Russian customs officials have reportedly started confiscating prohibited food items from travellers' hand luggage, although this contradicts the year-old food ban under which food from sanctioned Western countries brought in for personal use is permitted.
According to Russia’s state agricultural watchdog, so far about 550kg of prohibited food items found in people’s hand luggage has been destroyed in St Petersburg, Kaliningrad and other regions. Read more: themoscowtimes.com
