Scotland's Homecoming campaign proves a success.

A record-breaking two million people attended Homecoming events in Scotland  last year. The Scottish tourism campaign featured over a thousand events, including Europe’s largest brass music festival, the MTV European Music Awards, Pipefest and the Borders Book Festival. The previous Homecoming campaign, in 2009, had mixed success after its flagship Gathering event went bust. Last year’s event saw £5.5 million of funding given to new events and to help existing events expand. In 2015 Scotland is promoting itself with the Year of Food and Drink. Read more: bbc.co.uk
