Prague’s famous John Lennon Wall, a graffiti-covered wall that’s stood as a symbol of Western culture and democratic ideology, was painted totally white except for a single stencil – ‘Wall is over!’ – on Tuesday. An anonymous group of students claimed responsibility for the stunt, which coincided with the 25th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution that began Czechoslovakia’s non-violent transition from communist rule to democracy. The wall started with a single graffitied image of John Lennon and has long been an attraction for visitors. Read more:
