Despite dropping ticket prices by NZ$50 per ticket to NZ$149, only around half the tickets for the 2015 Wellington Rugby Sevens tournament have been sold. Tournament general manager Steve Dunbar says the collective cost of travel, accommodation, food and drink has probably played a part in the poor ticket sales.
