Bergen may be the birthplace of legendary musician Edvard Grieg but, following complaints from local residents about noise pollution, the city’s Grønn etat (Green Department) looks set to enforce a ban on street musicians playing in Torgallmenningen Square. The practice is already outlawed, but buskers have been tolerated up to now. However, the council is looking to change the policy which would lead to police enforcement of the rules.
