Officials in Norway have said that enhanced border checks on those arriving by ferry from Hirtshals, Denmark, are being hindered by the number of passengers who are 'extremely drunk'.

In an interview with the Norwegian broadcaster NRK, the police said that some passengers arriving at the Kristiansand port are 'too intoxicated' to find their travel documents or answer questions.
