A limited number of websites in North Korea are reportedly back online after a nine-hour outage was believed to have shuttered the nation’s internet. Two of the North’s main online news channels were back up on Tuesday afternoon. The outage came amid escalating tensions between the US and North Korea over a cyberattack on Sony Pictures. Most North Korean citizens use a tightly-controlled, heavily censored version of the internet known as the ‘Kwangmyong’, while only government officials have access to the wider international web.
