Actor Nicolas Cage has been ordered to return a dinosaur skull to Mongolia after it was found to be stolen.

The actor had purchased the 67 million-year-old Tyrannosaurus bataar skull at an auction (reportedly outbidding Leonardo DiCaprio), not realising it had been smuggled from Mongolia. The fossil, which is worth US$276,000, had been on display at Cage’s home in Beverly Hills. In recent years, Mongolia has been on an international drive to have lost and smuggled fossils returned to it; the country banned the export of dinosaur fossils in 1924. Read more: rollingstone.com
