Paperless boarding passes are being trialled at the international airport in Mumbai as the latest step to move air travel in India into the digital age.
Around 280,000 aircraft pass through India’s second busiest airport every year, and the trial has been running for two weeks, with passengers receiving an SMS message on a mobile phone containing a scanable QR code, in place of a traditional paper boarding pass.
