Water supplies are still disrupted in Male, the capital of the Maldives, three days after a fire devastated the desalination plant which supplies the island with most of its drinking water. The cost of repairing the plant is estimated at US$20 million, and Maldivian diplomats are appealling to partner nations to donate funds for the project.
