One of the main mountain passes connecting Tibet and Nepal has been reopened following the 25 April earthquake that killed more than 7000 people. Girong pass was closed after being blocked by rubble and debris from the earthquake and numerous aftershocks. The pass is one of the major overland immigration points between China and Nepal. Immigration and customs facilities on the Nepal side of the border had been severely affected by the quake. Read more: wantchinatimes.com
