The local authority governing the Balearics has announced it intends to make Magaluf a ‘mature tourist zone’ in response to its reputation as a party and drinking town for young tourists. Local businesses will be given 6 months to review their services to tourists and explain how they will improve them. British police have also been invited to patrol the city’s main tourist strip, Punta Ballena, and help maintain order. Read more: theguardian.com
