Sales of macadamia nuts have taken off in South Korea in the wake of a scandal involving a Korean Air executive. The airline’s vice president, Cho Hyun-ah, made headlines when she delayed a plane by 20 minutes to eject an air steward she says served her macadamia nuts incorrectly before takeoff. Several online marketplaces reported a significant jump in sales of macadamia nuts following the incident, including Gmarket, which reported a 149% week-on-week increase.
