LA Oscars museum approved by city council.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (aka the guys who give out Oscars) has just had its proposed museum approved by LA city council. There had been opposition from locals but the council voted unanimously to back the project which will see the new building go up next to the LA County Museum of Art on Wilshire Boulevard. The museum will contain exhibition galleries and cinemas and is expected to open in 2017. Read more: abc7.com
