Blues legend John McLaughlin is set to headline the first Dhaka Jazz & Blues festival on the fifth of November.
Long regarded as something of a backwater, the Bangladeshi capital is striving to establish itself as a venue for international festivals and events, with a string of new festivals celebrating culture and the arts. Jazz and blues music is surprisingly popular in the subcontinent, perhaps because of the tonal crossover between blues and raga scales.
