A city council plan to ease traffic congestion in Los Angeles by removing car lanes and adding more bike and bus lanes has been met with criticism and praise.

Opponents say that the scheme, to be rolled out over the next 20 years, will just make traffic worse and that forcing people out of their cars with no adequate substitute is a bad idea.
