The longest-running ethnic festival in the US, Nisei Week, started on Saturday in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo neighbourhood.
The event was started in 1940 by Nisei (second-generation) Japanese immigrants to the US and includes the crowning of a festival queen, a grand parade, traditional ondo dancing, and a gyoza-eating competition. Read more: abc7.com
