
Japanese food-making company Kagome has unveiled a contraption designed to be worn on a person’s shoulders and feed tomatoes to the wearer. The ‘Tomatan’ is intended to help fuel runners in the Tokyo Marathon, which is being held this weekend. A Kagome employee will be wearing the 8kg machine during a 5km fun run on Saturday. A smaller version, the ‘Petit-Tomatan’, will be worn during the full marathon. The makers have noted that tomatoes have ‘lots of nutrition that combats fatigue’. Read more: japantimes.co.jp
