Japanese bank Shinsei has begun installing ATMs that will accept foreign-issued cards, following a rise in demand from tourists, who visited Japan in record numbers in 2014. Shinsei reportedly plans to replace 76 of its ATMs across 35 branches, while other major banks, such as Mizuho, Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ and Sumitomo Mitsui, have plans to begin installing foreign-card-friendly ATMs over the course of the next year. Overseas tourists in Japan have long been limited to using post office ATMs or ATMs at Seven Eleven convenience stores. Read more: asia.nikkei.com
