A Japanese robot that has been designed to look like Leonardo Da Vinci has gone on display at Milan’s National Museum of Science & Technology.

It is the first time an android has been made to represent a deceased historical figure. The Osaka University team used pictures and information from historical documents to reconstruct Da Vinci’s visage and attempt to mimic his facial expressions. Their creation is on show until 27 September, and at weekends visitors to the museum can talk directly to the android, which will be controlled by a human roboteer. Read more: ansa.it
