The Maltese authorities have announced plans for the restoration of Valletta’s iconic Triton Fountain, which is located just outside the newly renovated City Gate. The €500,000 restoration will involve completely dismantling the fountain, repairing the three bronze triton statues, cleansing the travertine cladding and adding a new water filtration system to sort out the fountain’s notoriously murky green water.
