An unexploded 500lb bomb has been found beneath the streets of Bethnal Green, in East London.

The explosive dates from WWII, when thousands of German bombs were dropped on cities and strategic targets across Britain - East London was one of the worst affected areas. Hundreds of people were evacuated from the area on Monday night and streets were closed as bomb experts worked to defuse the device. The site is close to London’s famous Columbia Road Flower Market.
