A huge eight-metre wide, five-metre deep sinkhole opened up on a street in Valverde near Catania in Sicily after a torrential rainstorm, swallowing a parked car.
The female driver of the car had a lucky escape, as she parked the car only shortly before the ground opened up and swallowed it. Firefighters later arrived on the scene and hauled the car out of the sinkhole using a crane. Read more and watch the video: thelocal.it
