This week brings another selection of photos from around the world.

Mads Pihl, who works for Visit Greenland, took over the Lonely Planet Instagram account for the weekend to post some photos of Greenland, which was included in 2016’s Best in Travel selections. Pihl wrote of this photo: 'The Greenland dog is a special pure breed only found in this country. Immensely strong dogs, they have the dexterity to power through deep blizzarding snow and icy terrains. When they are pups they have a bit more time to play.'

Areas that were evacuated following the eruption of Mount Sinabung in the village of Kuta Gugung, North Sumatra, Indonesia, are left with crumbling buildings and personal belongings. Those items left behind now serve as eerie reminders of how life suddenly stopped when the volcano erupted and everyone was forced to evacuate their homes.

The national arboretum in the UK has lit up for an Enchanted Christmas event. The Forestry Commission’s Westonbirt Arboretum has illuminated the trees, for a woodland walk. The event includes carols and other Christmas-themed events and in certain areas, carollers can sing and the louder they do, the more the trees will be lit up.

A photograph shows a glimpse into life in North Korea. The reclusive nation is pushing ahead towards increasing its tourist numbers, and has started offering sightseeing helicopter flights over the capital, Pyongyang, according to media reports.

The Royal Garden of Light, with plants and decorations made of thousands of colorful diodes, is a winter exhibition that brightens up the garden surrounding the Wilanow Palace, seen in the background.

The Toronto Zoo posted photos of its new baby pandas to its Facebook page wishing people a "Happy Black (& white) Friday" last week.
The photos show mother Er Shun with her two new cubs. Er Shun is on loan from China, and it is the first time giant pandas have been born in Canada. The cubs are expected to return to China in a few years.
