The US Forest Service has announced the temporary closure of the popular Scotchman Peak Trail in Northern Idaho due to aggressive mountain goats.

In June a hiker was bitten by a hostile mountain goat, and there have been other reports of goats trying to charge and head-butt people. The Forest Service said the behavior is likely tied to hikers who have been feeding the goats, and the animals have adapted to aggressively seek food.
