China has opened a new high-speed rail line that connects with the border of North Korea.

The latest in a string of new high-speed rail lines around the country travels from Shenyang in the northeast part of China, to Dadong on the North Korean border. Around 10,000 people a year – mostly Chinese traders and tourists – travel into North Korea through Dadong, and last year a train tour was launched for Chinese visitors to the reclusive country. The new rail will more than halve travel time between the two cities, taking around an hour. Read more: latimes.com
