
At Melbourne’s Federation Square, a dramatic sea of hand-knitted poppies have been laid out, part of the city’s 100th anniversary of Anzac Day. The project has been two years in the making and poppies have been posted from all over the world. Anzac Day is a national holiday marking the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. Both Australia and New Zealand will be remembering their fallen soldiers at various services around both countries on April 25. Read more: abc.net.au
