Officials at the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks say grizzly bear sightings near Yellowstone National Park are up this year. According to FWP, there are at least 24 individual bears around Red Lodge, MT. Ranchers and cattle herders complain that the bears are killing livestock, and officials are concerned about the danger to campgrounds in the area. FWP hopes to educate visitors on proper bear protocols, using signs to warn hikers and campers, but also issuing tickets for food storage violations. Read more: billingsgazette.com
