
A man who led a non-commercial trip down the Colorado River has been fined almost $2500 for dumping trash and collecting illegal firewood. According to prosecutors, the man dropped garbage in the water every day during the 12-day trip. He was also accused of collecting driftwood, which is protected in the Grand Canyon, for firewood. Grand Canyon National Park requires all tours down the river to pack out what they bring in. Read more: reuters.com
