
Police in Germany have launched a manhunt after a wolf was shot and decapitated on the border between Brandenburg and Saxony. The animal was found in the week following Christmas, in a case which draws parallels with the discovery of a beheaded wolf in Saxony in August. Wolves were reintroduced to Brandenburg at the start of the millennium and are a protected species but they have been targeted by hunters despite heavy penalties. Read more: thelocal.de
