The congress of Colombia has approved a plan to feature the image of Nobel Prize-winning writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez on the next issues of peso notes and coins. Colombia's Ministries of Education, Culture, Information Technology and Communications are planning state policy to promote the figure of ‘Gabo’ in the country, including the creation of programs that preserve assets and places of cultural interest.
