Sections of Mt Meru in Tanzania’s Arusha National Park are currently ablaze after a suspected arson attack.

Hundreds of firefighters, along with army personnel and volunteers, are battling the fire, which is being fuelled by dry conditions and strong winds. Elephants, forest antelopes, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and various other species are fleeing to unaffected sections of the park.
