Atacama, Chile before the flooding.

Rains storms in one of the driest parts of the world - Chile’s Atacama desert region - have caused devastating flash flooding leaving two dead. Heavy rain has flooded valleys and towns in the area leaving around 38,000 people without electricity and 48,500 people without drinking water. One person died from being electrocuted on the street and another died from a mudslide. The government has urged anyone in the area to evacuate, as more rain is expected increasing the risk of floods and mudslides. Read more: bbc.com
