A new exhibition called “Ottoman Athens, 1458-1833” has opened in the Greek capital. It is hosted by the Gennadius Library of the American School of Classical Studies and will last until 30 June. The exhibition features artwork, travellers’ books and archaeological findings from the Ancient Agora in Athens, and explores the history and topography as well as the everyday lives in the city during the Ottoman period, which is often neglected in Greek history.
