The Red Cross in Tonga has urged people to save water now as cyclone season nears.

Water shortages are likely in the kingdom over the next few months from October to December with lower than average rainfall expected due to the El Nino weather pattern. Tonga has had extremely dry weather for the last year, with shipments of water required on Ha'apai and Vava'u.
