Edinburgh’s controversial tram scheme is set to expand to Leith and Newhaven. Trams currently connect the city’s airport with Princes Street in the city centre.
City councillors are expected to approve the extension this week. The works required by the initial scheme caused major problems for traffic in the city, with numerous road closures, although the resulting route has proved very popular. Read more: bbc.co.uk
