Edinburgh Castle has had a record-breaking summer with 763,566 visitors between June and September. The figures confirm its status as Scotland’s top paid-for tourist attraction. Other historic Scottish sights also welcomed more visitors than ever – Scara Brae in Orkney recorded a rise of 11%, and overall figures were up 4%.
