A plan to turn Eatonville, Florida, the oldest black town in America, into a shopping destination for the uber rich was voted down by the town council on Tuesday. The proposal - called the World Transportation Exchange and costing around $200 to construct - would have engulfed 20% of the town, providing a shopping center where items such as yachts, helicopters, private jets and luxury cars would be on display.
