To avoid wasting water by cleaning up the dishes after eating, one town in northern California has ordered all food outlets to use disposable plates and cutlery from this Wednesday onwards.
Fort Bragg, on the coast north of San Francisco, has water levels so low that seawater has leaked into the system causing the local authorities to issue the order. Locals are already used to not being water their gardens and clean their cars but some are complaining about the new regulation, saying that you can’t eat a steak with plastic knife.
