A runaway tram in Almaty, Kazakhstan has injured at least five people after crashing through 17 vehicles.
The tram went careering down the track after the driver exited to check a problem on the outside of the tram. A trainee driver who remained inside jumped out when she noticed the tram starting to move on its own. The tram then continued down a main thoroughfare, crashing into 17 different vehicles before coming to a halt. Five people were taken to hospital with injuries related to the incident, including one woman who was hit by a car that had crashed into the runaway tram. Read more: tengrinews.kz
