
Driving a Communist-era Trabant, a group of Eastern European documentary makers are on a mission to make a trans-Australian road trip from Perth to Sydney and then north to Darwin recording their antics in a Top Gear style film for European audiences. From the Top End of Australia they’ll continue their journey to East Timor, Indonesia, Malaysia and north to mainland Southeast Asia. The group has already hit its first major hurdle dealing with the red tape importing a car to Australia. They’re calling on Australians to help them out on the road as they drive the East Germany manufactured Trabant, one of the world’s notoriously unreliable cars. Read more: abc.net.au
