
The National Park Service has extended the application deadline for tour operators seeking permits to dive a sunken B-29 at the bottom of Lake Mead. The deadline was moved from Friday to the 20th of February after just one company applied. The National Park Service hopes to process applications and have permits ready by spring for dives beginning this summer. The B-29 crashed into the lake in 1949. The crew survived, but the plane was lost until 2001, when a team of divers discovered the wreck mostly intact on the lakebed. Read more: reviewjournal.com
