Zimbabwean rangers in Hwange National Park have discovered the bodies of 22 more elephants that have been poisoned with cyanide.

The grim find brings the total number of elephants poisoned by poachers in Zimbabwe this October to 62. The carcasses were found in Hwange’s Sinamatella area on Monday morning. This worrying pattern in the country follows the cyanide poisoning deaths of more than 200 elephants in 2013. Officials hope that the deployment of drones and trained dogs from South Africa will help reduce poaching in the vast park. Read more: theguardian.com
