General Gilbert Diendere, the head of the presidential guard and leader of the recent short-lived coup in Burkina Faso, is now in the custody of the country's security forces.
Interim President Michel Kafando was reinstated last week after involvement from the West African leaders and the army. Diendere’s unit of presidential guards' unit that carried out the coup is to be disbanded. The British FCO has stated that the situation still remains unclear and the security situation may deteriorate. A curfew is in place from 11pm to 5am. Read more: bbc.co.uk
