A balloon from the 25th anniversary celebrations marking the fall of the Berlin Wall has been found 850km away in Riga, Latvia. Over 7000 balloons were released on 9 November in the German capital, each one bearing a postcard from a 'balloon patron'. Those who found the balloons were encouraged to register the find so they could be pinned on an online map. Most of the postcards reached as far as north-eastern Germany, but a few made it further afield, including two in Poland. Read more: thelocal.de
