The daily closing-of-the-border ritual at the only road crossing between India and Pakistan has been hit by a suicide bomber, killing 55 Pakistani spectators. The daily ceremony, in which soldiers from both sides perform an almost theatrical display of marching and saluting, has become a popular tourist spectacle on both sides of the border, but all traffic across the border at Wagah-Attari has been suspended following the blast.
