A statue of a giant floating teapot near Chongqing has become the butt of jokes online as Chinese netizens have claimed it appears to be pouring excrement. The teapot, which is located on the site of a tea factory, appears suspended in the air pouring a stream of brown and green liquid.

Factory workers reportedly said that the unfortunate colour of the liquid was due to unexpected moss growth on the sculpture. This is not the first time recently that sculptures have drawn criticism in China – last month, a giant golden statue of Chairman Mao in Henan province was met with indignation from locals and subsequently dismantled.
