A new ‘honesty bookstore’ has opened in Nanjing in eastern China. The store, which is not staffed, features an ‘honesty box’ where customers are asked to pay whatever amount they feel like when leaving.

The small store only stocks around 1,500 titles and, so far, has earned approximately the right amount. Around 300 books were sold on its opening day, with the store breaking even on costs based on what customers paid. Read more: shanghaiist.com
