A new building in the northeastern Chinese city of Shijiazhuang combines the famous Temple of Heaven in Beijing with the US Capitol building.
The replica is one half the colourful triple-gabled Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests and one half the iconic whitewashed rotunda of the US Capitol. The building is part of a new film set, where filmmakers can utilise either side of the rotunda as a front, cutting costs in constructing entire sets. Elsewhere in the film set are a mock Egyptian pyramid, London’s Big Ben clocktower, Venetian canals and an Austrian alpine village. Read more: bbc.co.uk
