Florence’s Grande Museo del Duomo is due to reopen on 29 October, following an extensive renovation and expansion.

The expanded museum now occupies two adjoining buildings, with 25 rooms across three floors totalling nearly 6,000 square metres of exhibition space. The museum contains a number of new highlights that have been brought out of storage, including huge room containing a full-scale model of the 1296 cathedral facade, which was subsequently replaced with the current facade.
